GWWO Selected as Architect for new Northern High School

GWWO Selected as Architect for new Northern High School

Calvert County Public Schools selected GWWO to design a replacement school for Northern High.

The new facility will accommodate 1,500 students and will be CCPS’s first LEED project, with a goal of Silver certification. The plan calls for construction of a new 200,000-SF school and the interior renovations and addition of 3,800-SF to the current arts center. In an innovative move for a high school, the design incorporates a central quad that will serve as the heart of the campus. New vehicular traffic patterns will create clearer and safer site circulation for cars, buses and pedestrians. GWWO’s design allows for the current facility to stay open while the new school is under construction.
