An administrative addition adjacent to the main entrance positions school leaders at the entry and creates a secure entry vestibule while a new canopy promotes a more welcoming and visible entry. Located at the rear of the school, a new light-filled classroom addition houses general classrooms, art rooms, music rooms, as well as an extended learning room. Modifications to existing classrooms increase daylighting, improve acoustics, and correct spatial inefficiencies while an enlarged cafeteria accommodates the additional enrollment. All finishes, equipment, and building systems were replaced, and numerous modifications for code compliance were implemented.
Diligent planning for this occupied, phased renovation allowed for continuous school operations throughout construction. Phases one and four were completed under an accelerated schedule during the summer months while phases two, three, and five were completed while the school remained in session.
