The cultural heart of the city and the region, Chrysler Hall is ready for a rejuvenation that reimagines the patron experience and reinvigorates this cultural cornerstone.

One of the city’s busiest venues, the building is planned to receive an upgrade that elevates the patron experience, respects its historical significance, and modernizes back of house spaces. For patrons, this will mean a new lobby, center-bank seating with cross aisles, extended dress circle and balcony, and new restrooms. A new catering kitchen and renovations to the VIP lounge and concessions located throughout the facility are also included.

Hampton Roads Association for Commercial Real Estate (HRACRE) Award of Excellence

Concurrently, GWWO undertook visioning for a new rehearsal facility. Inspired by the strong existing architecture, the new facility is conceived as a solid, singular, and captivating form that can stand with Scope Arena and Chrysler Hall on Norfolk’s Scope Plaza—while expressing the modern vitality of the growing needs of one of the city’s most popular institutions. Parametric design was used to create the engaging faceted glass exterior that appears to dance with shifting viewpoints.
