This past weekend, GWWO staff members joined many other volunteers to participate in Green Apple Day of Service.
Green Apple Day of Service is a day in which parents, teachers, students, companies, local organizations, and community members volunteer on projects that transform schools into safe, healthy, and sustainable learning environments. It has grown into an international movement of nearly a million volunteers in over 70 countries who gather to celebrate the vital role that schools play in preparing the next generation of global leaders.
Continuing our progress at Garrett Heights Elementary/Middle school from the previous Green Apple Day of Service, GWWO staff members joined other volunteers to perform workday service project tasks including painting, tree planting, gardening, and leaf and lawn clean-up. The event was sponsored by USGBC Maryland who continues to work with Garrett Heights Elementary/Middle School on various projects to enhance their outdoor space. Our staff members have enjoyed participating in this event and look forward to the next Green Apple Day of Service.
