GWWO Selected to Design the Renovation of Towson University's Glen Dining Hall

After a multi-phased selection process, GWWO was selected to design the renovation of Towson University’s Glen Dining Hall. The facility was originally constructed in 1983 as part of the Glen complex which was designed to accommodate student housing, student dining, and a gathering plaza. The most recent major renovation to Glen Dining was in 2004 and provided interior and servery upgrades. The University desires to provide a more modern and updated dining experience for its student body.

To achieve this goal, the approximately 21,000-SF renovation will reactivate the space by reorganizing the dining and operational functions. The renovation of Glen Dining will reconfigure the services and dining room with six food stations and flexible pop-up stations, expand and make modifications to the kitchen, replace the existing dishwashing rooms, add a mezzanine and outdoor deck, and make modifications to and replacements of mechanical and electrical systems. Additionally, components that currently block the view through the northern curtainwall out to the Glen will also be demolished in an effort to open the view looking north.

The renovation also aims to transform the building into an up-to-date and energy efficient facility that can serve the future dining needs at Towson. The project has a goal of achieving LEED Silver Certification.
