This spring, GWWO continued our tradition of participating in Green Apple Day of Service—a day which unites parents, teachers, students, companies, and local organizations on volunteer projects that transform schools into safe, healthy, and sustainable learning environments.
Over the weekend, GWWO employees spent their Saturday morning working with teachers, staff, and students of Garrett Heights Elementary/Middle School, as well as other local professionals, to plant a new butterfly garden to serve as an outdoor teaching space for the school and tidy up the playground, planting beds, and school grounds. The event was sponsored by USGBC Maryland who continues to work with Garrett Heights Elementary/Middle School on their outdoor classroom and various projects to enhance their outdoor space. We're always happy to contribute in any way and give back to our community.
