Salisbury University celebrated the grand opening of the new $16.7M, 30,000-SF Sea Gull Stadium today.
The new, state-of-the-art stadium was designed to be compatible with the University architecture while also having its own strong identity and clearly delineating its function as the sporting destination on campus. Design for the new facility reflects the campus' vernacular, incorporating traditional brick and cast stone columns. The stadium was built as the first step of the University's vision towards becoming a recognized national model of a 21st century intercollegiate athletic program. Designed to achieve LEED Silver Certification, the 5,000-seat stadium provides the athletes with a venue they deserve, including all of the necessary resources, amenities, and tools to succeed against their conference and national rivals.
