Anne Arundel County Public School officials recently celebrated the official groundbreaking of the long-sought-after new Crofton Area High School.
In addition to general classrooms, the school will include science labs, tech ed classrooms, a fabrication lab, special education classroom cluster, media center, cafeteria, gymnasium, auditorium, art classrooms, music classrooms, a dance studio, fitness lab, maker space, breakout spaces for collaborative learning, administrative areas, and athletic fields. The $124.5M school is scheduled to open in 2020 and will be the first state-of-the-art school in the Crofton community. In the words of County Executive Steve Schuh, "Welcome to history."
