Providing a new prominent and elegant entrance, as well as new practice rooms and recital hall, the Frank Arts Center addition graciously invites community members to enter from the west side of the building, while students approaching from campus remain welcomed by the original east entrance.  The dual entrances serve as a connection between the campus and surrounding neighborhood, providing a community hub for the arts.

Compatible with the established campus architecture, the primarily brick addition blends with the original building, while the new entrance features a steel and glass exterior with a steel architectural canopy.  Emphasizing the prominence of the entry, the canopy serves as the focal point, setting the complex apart from its more utilitarian neighbors and visually drawing pedestrians into the building.

“The GWWO team was curious, creative, attentive, and receptive.  They listened to our needs, understood our preferences, and worked with us to explore options.  ...  It was evident that client service is the priority at GWWO.”

—Dr. Mark McCoy, former Department of Music Chair, Shepherd University
