On Wednesday, June 10th, Greenspring Montessori School held a groundbreaking ceremony celebrating the beginning of campus-wide renovations and additions.
With an expected completion date of August 2017, design for the approximately 16,000-SF renovation and 11,000-SF addition will create three new academic village environments. Classrooms in each village are designed to meet the specific needs of the school's child-centered approach to education while providing visual transparency and easy movement connecting each classroom to shared village spaces. Integral to a Montessori education is the ability to learn from the environment. As such, each classroom will be afforded a direct connection to the outdoor environment and an abundance of natural light. Additionally, all three villages will face a central space that will ultimately become the campus quad.
