Our mission with GWWOrks is to deepen our connection with our communities, clients, and cities through acts of service.

GWWOrks is a committee-driven, firm-wide effort to give back. Throughout 2025, we spent over 300 hours organizing and participating in a multitude of events, drives, and fundraisers to support the people and places where we live and work.

Back in January, our Baltimore team rolled up their sleeves during our annual blood drive through the American Red Cross. As the warmer weather rolled in, we brought our GWWOrks efforts out in the fresh air. Throughout the spring, we planted trees, harvested vegetables, and cleaned up parks. In April, we spent time at Irvine Nature Center in Owings Mills, MD, a long-time client and the largest independent non-profit nature center in the region, assisting with event setup for one of their many impactful community programs. To commemorate Earth Day, we took a trip across the harbor to clean-up one of Baltimore’s oldest parks with the Friends of Patterson Park. Partnering with Civic Works Baltimore's Community Landscaping Program, our team prepped the ground and planted trees in East Baltimore’s Johnston Square.

In July, our West Hartford team visited Westmoor Park, an agricultural education center with a demonstration farm, gardens and meadows, and trails, for the third time. They spent the morning weeding, pruning, and cleaning. Our Baltimore team visited First Fruit Farms where we harvested 40,000 pounds of cabbage to be distributed to food banks across Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.

Throughout the school year so far, our West Hartford team has been a part of the Hawk Helpers Weekend Backpack Program at Charles Wright Elementary School in Wethersfield, CT. We participate in the "Adopt-a-Shelf" part of the program and donate pasta every month. This effort supports students and their families on the weekends to ensure they have food to eat.

This fall, we put our firm’s focus on sustainability into action by volunteering with Second Chance to prepare reclaimed wood for sale and also planted trees in Central Baltimore’s Barclay neighborhood.

As the year ends, we’re helping bring holiday cheer by delivering gifts and holiday essentials to 52 children at Francis Scott Key Elementary/Middle School through the Baltimore Family Alliance (BFA) and New Haven’s New Reach Gift-A-Family program. We’re also collecting jackets and cold weather gear to support the Education Foundation of Baltimore County Public Schools’ Warmth & Joy Campaign to ensure students have the basic necessities to arrive at school warm and ready to learn.

We are proud of our achievements and contributions in 2025 and look forward to continuing our tradition of giving back and supporting the missions of these and vital organizations in 2026.
