Baltimore Sun Top Workplaces Ranks GWWO Third

GWWO, Inc./Architects is pleased to announced that we have been selected as one of the Baltimore Sun’s Top Workplaces.

What’s even more exciting is that the award is a direct result of our employees’ own sentiments. The Top Workplaces ranking is determined based solely on anonymous employee feedback that is gathered from a comprehensive survey led by WorkplaceDynamics. GWWO received the Top Honor in the Employee Appreciation category as well as ranked 3rd out of 65 in the Small Employers category. The Baltimore Sun published the completed list on Sunday, December 8.

“It is our great firm culture and the incredible commitment and passion that everyone brings to GWWO that make this one of the Top Workplaces in Baltimore” said President Alan Reed. Reed’s thoughts were echoed through the survey’s employee comments section: “the future here is bright…this company is going places” and “there is a definite camaraderie among staff and a friendliness and appreciation for everyone.”

Founded in 1990, GWWO has grown from a small firm of 27 to 52 employees over the last decade. Keeping the small-firm feel as the firm has grown has been a challenge, but firmwide Friday Happy Hours and monthly staff meetings have helped to keep employees updated and the lines of communication open. Even more so, an open workspace without offices or doors allows employees accessibility to upper management, making it easy to learn and get things done. GWWO also fosters our own sense of community through a firm-wide day of service, donation drives, team participation in the Kennedy Krieger Institute’s Festival of Trees and more to support the greater community. The firm offers a comprehensive benefits package that contributes to an employee’s health, professional development and general well-being.
