Divided into a “school zone” and a “public zone,” the 200-student, 24,000-SF addition to Deer Park Middle School provides facilities for educational and community use. The zones may be separated for security reasons, allowing the school to be used after hours by local organizations.
The new lobby improves the school’s “first impression” and provides a clear entry point. Emphasized by the use of a glass curtain wall system in a dynamic piano curve, the two-story space provides natural light during the day, and acts as a visual beacon for evening performances when lit from within.
